Each year, Pantone releases the name of the color that is poised to set trends in fashion and beauty. And each year, they get it spot on. Well, they've gone and done it again. Pantone's Color of the Year for 2014 is Radiant Orchid. They describe the exact color as, "An enchanting harmony of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones. Radiant Orchid inspires confidence and emanates great joy, love and health. It is a captivating purple, one that draws you in with its beguiling charm.”

It's really hard to argue with an explanation like that.
