Each year, Pantone releases the name of the color that is poised to set trends in fashion and beauty. And each year, they get it spot on. I remember two years ago when Tangerine Tango was named as their Color of the Year just as I was becoming obsessed with anything and everything coral. How do they know?!

Well, they've gone and done it again. Pantone's Color of the Year for 2014 is Radiant Orchid. They describe the exact color as, "An enchanting harmony of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones. Radiant Orchid inspires confidence and emanates great joy, love and health. It is a captivating purple, one that draws you in with its beguiling charm.”

It's really hard to argue with an explanation like that. While many of us are still deep in the throes of winter, thinking about draping ourselves in beautifully made clothes that mimic the shade of Radiant Orchid is enough to transport us to our happy place (AKA - spring). So shake off those snow-covered doldrums - Shabby Apple is here to rescue you with gorgeous dresses and separates in Radiant Orchid-esque shades. If you're a gal who likes darker colors, you can still sport a version of the 2014 trend in pieces that celebrate rich, gemstone purples.
