I'm 5'4", 115 lbs, small busted, and size 4 fits well. The hem falls right at my knees. I agree that the zipper placement is weird, which is why I'm not giving 5 stars. I'm willing to overlook the zipper problem, because I don't think it's that noticeable. A sash or wide belt will help. The dress is a very pretty color, and the material is nice and light for summer.

I wanted to offer another viewpoint on this dress for those hesitant to make a decision. I was a little bit too, but I decided to go ahead and give the dress a chance, and I'm glad I did. First, I'll address the concerns: sizing and zipper. I am a true 8, even by SA's new sizing, so that's what size I ordered. Yes, the waistband is a little bit tight; I believe that's intended to help cause the blousy effect the dress is supposed to have. This seems to be the main thing that contributes to the problem with the zipper; when it's on a hanger, the zipper's not a problem at all. I plan to wear a shaper underneath, and I think that will smooth things out enough to make it work. In my case, I think the tight waistband actually helped with the zipper issue as well. I'm enough of an hourglass shape that it blousons out on top to sort of work out. That being said, I probably will eventually take it to a tailor and have them make a few adjustments. The dress is also sheer, but it won't be a problem with a light slip underneath. Now the pros: the color is absolutely STUNNING. It's a perfect tomato/lipstick red and I can't wait to try different contrasting colors with it. Secondly, the double layer of chiffon feels very luxurious, and even after shipping in a soft envelope, it was perfectly unwrinkled! Apart from the zipper issue, it seems like a very good-quality dress, and that makes it worth it to me to keep. If you're on the fence about it (as I was), I hope you'll at least give it a chance. After all, you can always send it back if it doesn't work!

I love the color, despite being fair with cool-toned skin! I'd definitely read the other reviews and listen to the concerns regarding the fit at the waist and the zipper. I didn't find a problem with the sheerness; I just wore nude undergarments. Something not addressed in the other reviews: if there is a risk of sweating while wearing this dress, you will get sweat stains. The fabric gets quite dark so they're really noticeable.

I love the fit and color of this dress (I ordered the sash shown in the picture to go with it), but as another reviewer mentioned, the zipper is poorly placed. It makes the side of the dress bunch up, stick out, and just generally looks terrible. It is unfixable, unless you go to a seamstress, which I ended up doing. She was able to move the zipper down to below the waist and added small snaps in place of where it used to be. Now the dress lays as it should, and looks great, but I would've preferred not to pay extra money to have that done.

I really wanted to love this dress, but the sizing was way off, which seems to be an ongoing issue with Shabby Apple clothing since they re-did their sizing system. I wear an 8 at most stores, including J Crew and Ann Taylor Loft (sometimes a 6), and I ordered an 8. It was way too tight in the waist, which made the flowy effect the dress is supposed to have just look awkward. This dress does have some good traits, though: The color and design are beautiful. I'm sure if the sizing was right, this would be a beautiful dress (if not a bit sheer).
