Girls Love Mail - Supporting and Encouraging Women

Posted on November 11 2013

Shabby Apple is a proud supporter of women's causes, and we recently discovered a wonderful initiative that makes an important difference in the lives of women who are receiving treatment for breast cancer that we wanted to share with you!

Girls Love Mail provides encouragement and love to women undergoing breast cancer treatments by distributing hand-written letters to them. These letters are written by women like you from all over the world. Their website explains that you don't have to be going through breast cancer treatment yourself to write these letters - simply providing happiness, light and hope through a letter that encourages these strong women to keep fighting is all they ask for.

This year, Girls Love Mail encouraged letter writers to pen a "Mile of Mail" - that's over 5280 letters! - and they recently reached that important milestone. But that doesn't mean the campaign is over. There are thousands of women throughout the US who would benefit from receiving the comfort of a hand-written letter from ladies just like you.

You don't have to be from the US to contribute - letters come in from all over the world! Their website provides helpful hints and tips on how to craft your letter. Letter writing is a wonderful lost art that we are happy to see is making a difference in the lives of these strong women.

Last month, Shabby Apple marked Breast Cancer Awareness month by donating scarves to patients receiving cancer treatments at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo, UT.

Shabby Apple is a proud supporter a number of women's causes. We have teamed up with Accion to help fight global poverty by giving women the tools and opportunities they need to work their way out of poverty. With every dress you buy from Shabby Apple, you are helping women around the world. You can learn more about this wonderful initiative here!
