Dressed for Easter

When I was a little girl, every year I got a new Easter dress. Something with a big skirt, perfect for twirling, and a pattern perfect for spring.

Now as an adult I still treat myself to an Easter dress every year, because who am I to mess with tradition?

And you know what other tradition I think is worth bringing back and keeping alive? The tradition of the Easter hat. Really, I can’t understand why we don’t wear hats on the regular anymore (yet another reason to be jealous of Kate Middleton), but if we’re ever going to resurrect vintage hat fashion, Easter seems like the perfect place to start.

For example, you can go over-the-top floral.

You can go classic wide brim. (Bonus points if you can get your mister to wear a top hat!)

Or opt for a slightly smaller, more streamlined brim.

And there’s always the modern spin on vintage hats, the fascinator. If it’s good enough for New York City’s 5th Avenue Easter Parade, it’s good enough for us. Am I right?

Pick your favorite hat, pair it with a feminine lace dress, and you’re ready to celebrate Easter in perfect vintage style.
